Advocacy Politics

The essence of political activity is advocacy, enshrined in our Constitution as the fundamental right of the people.

The Advocacy Politics area of focus prepares you with the skills and knowledge you need to shape policy outcomes as a lobbyist, corporate government affairs specialist, grassroots organizer, or non-profit advocate.

Required Core Courses (6 courses, 18 credit hours)
Complete four before proceeding to any advanced courses. Complete all six within your first eight courses.

Capstone Sequence Options
Students complete the final three classes (9 credits) by taking either two electives plus the capstone course (PMGT 295), or one elective plus the two-course thesis. The two thesis classes are usually taken during two successive semesters.
